Turning Away - Dec. 27, 2010

Turning Away

While all my secrets lie motionless, I listen to their dreams
Drifting like broken shadows to my end of days
Rolling on into nothingness, where forever seems
To exist in realms that will not pass away

Are not the years long enough, to wake them from their sleep
So I may know the truth my conscience holds inside
Or will my secrets never honor me with all I hope they keep
Until their dreams I no longer listen to or confide

I heard the humming of a spinning wheel, perhaps my own
But the hand that turned the wheel was not mine
I wondered if the dreams of my secrets had all rolled on
To exist in realms my conscience could not find

While all my secrets were motionless, I listened to their dreams
Finding they held all the sorrows I could not see
As I had rolled them into nothingness, where forever seemed
To exist in realms where I did not wish to be

  4. Extraordinary tapestry Neva. You always weave coherent imagery. There is revelation in each line. I love reading and following where you take us.

  5. Secrets and dreams are turning me into this beautiful metaphor, but only the truth sets us free.

  6. I AM TEMPTED TO SAY ONLY THAT THIS IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL--- IT IS, BUT THERE IS SO MUCH DEPTH HERE- SO MANY LAYERS OF MEANING-- SO MANY QUESTIONS , I FIND IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SUM UP IN ONLY A BRIEF OFFHAND OBSERVATION---

TO ME THIS EXPRESSES A DEEP YEARNING- TO KNOW, TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IT ALL MEANS-- WHAT LIFE ITSELF IS ALL ABOUT WHAT SECRETS LIE IN THE ATTICS OF OUR MINDS-- WHAT IS THE TRUTH IN OUR DREAMS ?
