Wisdom's Honey
Write on a rolling stone all your fine threads of thought
Raining down from the new dew of morning
In time's remaining colors wrought
For my eyes
Adoring
Nothing will I reply, from the silence of my soul
Yet I will dream to be the one who drinks
From the essence of your bowl
The honey of your wisdom
As you think
Your thoughts profoundly stir the hands of my mind
Whirling into the print upon a rolling stone
Each fine thread my eyes find
Stir time's remaining colors
In distinctive tones
I hunger for the honey of your wisdom endlessly
Long to drink from your fine threads
Write on a rolling stone for me
The thoughts inside
Your head

Great poem. The saying about how 'words are only necessary when love has gone' came into my head for some reason.
ReplyDeleteI love the thought of writing on a rolling stone. Where that idea came from for this poem is simply divine, especially from a great poet.
ReplyDeleteWisdom, the correct application of knowledge. Knowledge found on a rolling stone. the indicators of ever getting much more than a sip are here and that is what makes wisdom so elusive.
