Where My Soul Bleeds - March 15, 2011

Johanne Cullen
Where My Soul Bleeds

I am looking at black ink waking up the words that cut through me
While praying, they form a message that sends relief
I want to scream out that this is my world I love so deeply
And that every page is the ground
Where my soul bleeds

Tell me is it less fair to extend a soul so drained that it no longer sings
Yet still rises shyly to offer a quiet refrain you will never forget
Do the tears that are folded into a new day
Become ignorant so much so that they
Drown your spirit

If I wrote you a love letter, would you search the world for our destiny
Perhaps finding words full of vibrant colors that spin on the truth
Or would you get discouraged with my right hand
For delaying the proud breezes you wish
To feel here in wonder

I am looking at black ink racing through my veins
Let me take the time to create a story that will comfort every page
Of this world I love so deeply because rare is the heartbeat
That overcomes that which is taught by time to walk
On the definition of a kiss

My thoughts crumble into sweet passion waking black ink
Until my heart is bathed in a constant notice from time and space
Although my words are never spoken
Bits and pieces of them enjoyed the last time the ink whispered
Onto pages where my soul bleeds

  3. 'One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and, if it were possible, to speak a few reasonable words' - Goethe.

    That's two of them done!

  14. Could these lines actually be what I believe they are?

I search these lines of poetic grace and I'm embraced, by a soul, a caring soul that bleeds with this world in pain, drained, with all that is cast at its feet.

Is it possible, very probable, that this poem is a revelation of what is happening of late?

I sense a bleeding heart full of pain, agony, love towards humanity. A humanity defenceless against generations of darkness.

    Could this be?

Lovely poem Neva, as usual inspiration from devotion.

  15. Dear Lady ,
You weave such a fantastic tapestry of Life. Within and without. You let that ink flow from your soul with true Love of the words. A story is as deep as the soul that shares it with us in understanding. Beautiful Empathy.
    Thank You,Neva
