As He Can
The soul that knows the air he breathes
Already loves himself
On wings of possibility he flies
Outside of his own pain
With belief
The way he feels, he gently expresses
With a peaceful hand
Keeping his fires burning low
And manner of speech
In command
Where he hangs his hat, he calls home
A place where he is pleased
He listens to his morning ringing in
With a joyful heart
Just to be
The soul that knows the air he breathes
Holds his heart in his hands
Touching the world with the peace
He feels inside himself
As he can

Sense of balance in the emotional delivery perceive in these harmonic verses.
ReplyDelete"The soul that knows the air he breathes" - wow, that's strong. Talk about self-awareness! If only people took the time and shut off from the world for a bit to get in touch with their inner self and who they really are. People would most likely become more at peace with everything and the world around them.
ReplyDeleteThe soul that knows the air he breathes - is a meditaion in itself. A thought provoking poem.
ReplyDeleteYes, to be centred, to know oneself and to take time to be at peace with oneself and God.
ReplyDeleteThen everything else falls into place.
Well said!
A place where he hangs his hat, he calls Home, A place where he is pleased. Enlightening, to be happy ,must except Yourself first and find pleasure where You are. As You Wish.
ReplyDeleteLovely, Neva
Everyone should take time to be alone and reflect! Nice write, Neva!
ReplyDelete"The soul that knows the air he breathes" is an incredibly gorgeous line. I see it as an iambic tetrameter line. Then followed up by a trimetered line. Nice touch per se. I really love the tetra metered line. Beautifully constructed, Neva.
