Raining on the Fields - February 28, 2011

Raining on the Fields

You linger in love letters and sleep deeply within souls
Often, observed in the look in one's eyes
Those windows where shadows hold time will reveal
Spirit's of feelings, nameless and faceless
Yet, not to be denied

You rain on the fields of a forgotten melody so sweet
As soft feathers from a time standing still
Dancing on the toes' of the soul, you sleep within
Kept alive in the touch of a teardrop's salt
As master of all will

You hide quickly away within the warmth of a smile
While your sweet music continues to play
To be held as an unforgotten scent within a soul
Whose eyes have pulled down the shades
On those feelings today

  1. The perfume or scent of the soul - how true, though had never thought of it as this way before today. Another magical poem.

  2. Beautiful. You must let me know your thoughts on McGonigals poems if you get the chance.

  3. Yes Ryan was right BEAUTIFUL As I read Raining on the fields I imagine a woman talking to me. I see no woman she is just there and her words come to me softly. I guess that this is what good poetry will do to you. Top marks again Neva

  4. very lyrical...i particularly love that last stanza...

  5. Oh, the secrets eyes give away when we least expect it.

Always so beautifully written and so beautifully expressed, Neva. A pure pleasure to read...

  6. One of your best yet Neva. Sleep well and comfortable in the dreams of today.

  7. Lovely. Whose eyes have pulled down the shades
    On those feelings today-fabulous line.
